Welsh Boxer Kieran Gething Virtually Supports Local Wellbeing Group

Local mental health charity Mind Monmouthshire would like to thank Welsh Boxer Kieran Gething for recently supporting the Charity, as a guest speaker on their virtual wellbeing course.

Kieran, who is hoping to fight in June, is back in training and took time out of his busy schedule as a father, a boxer and a businessman to lead the virtual wellbeing session as part of the 8-week My Generation course. During the session he shared memories of his childhood, his mental health journey and how he became interested in boxing, along with sharing his passions, his drive and what makes him human.

During the Covid pandemic the Welsh fighter has written a book called “Insight” giving a window into the life of a fighter and family man.

“It was truly inspirational to have the Welsh Boxing Champion attend and talk to the group. The group were inspired by Kieran’s energy, warmth and honesty and he added hope, humour and a sparkle to the group’s day.

Kieran reminded us how important it is to do even a small amount of exercise, no matter what your age or capability. It’s important to keep doing whatever you can manage, little and often. we appreciate Kieran taking time out of his busy schedule to help support the wellbeing of others”.

Welsh Boxing Champion Kieran Gething said

“It was a pleasure to meet everyone on the wellbeing course, and hopefully sharing my story, and some things I have picked up along the way, will help others. The courses and the work of the charity helps so many people and the fact they have kept support running throughout these challenging times by adapting their services is a credit to Monmouthshire”.
