Gwent Connect 5

Dates below. Online and/or Face-to-Face. FREE.

This course is aimed at anyone who works with the public. It focuses on helping people to better understand about mental wellbeing within their everyday life, giving people the confidence to discuss mental health openly. Free 3 x 3-hour online sessions.

Gwent Connect 5’s overall aim is to improve population mental wellbeing by changing the way we all have conversations about mental health and wellbeing. This free course is the first, and only, evidence-based training programme available in the UK which aims to promote mental health and wellbeing. Gwent Connect 5 includes three training modules, each incremental in terms of skill development. Participants do not need to attend all three modules at once but must attend them in sequence, starting with module one.

Mental Health Awareness

Online
£25 per person
Mondays, Tuesdays or Fridays at your convenience.

Aims to raise awareness and offer some skills and knowledge to support others. 2.5-hour online course.

Mental Health First Aid (Adult)

Courses can be arrange on request with a minimum of 12 attendees.

Next course dates to be confirmed

This 2-day course teaches adults how to provide Mental Health First Aid to friends, families, and co-workers. This course can now be accredited.

Understanding Suicide Intervention Online Training

The course gives learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths and some basic skills can help someone with thoughts of suicide stay safe from their thoughts and stay alive.

This course can be fully accredited through City and Guilds.
